Started over a decade ago, Zenzulu is a design-led craft business, renowned for the fusion of modern materials, contemporary design with traditional craft skills in the creation of Zenzulu product line from South Africa. Using traditional craft forms and telephone wire weaving, master weavers employ a coiled basket technique and fuse traditional techniques with cutting edge design and modern industrial materials, with the aim reaching local and international markets with high-end, décor products. Unemployed women in the main from both urban and rural areas are taught how to weave these designs, which are regularly updated.
